Porsche Design has been a synonym for innovative solutions and inventions from its foundation. In the early 1970s, Porsche Design brought the idea of a matte black cockpit and instruments with white hands to ensure maximum contrast for optimal readability from the racetrack to a watch. The first Porsche Design timepiece, named Chronograph I, was born to revolutionize the watch industry.

At the same time, Porsche Design stands for extraordinary design expertise with its own design studio renowned worldwide, Studio F. A. Porsche in Zell am See [Austria]. The design philosophy is based on functionality and sober, timeless elegance – seen as well in the iconic Bauhaus style. The unique watches from the “1919 Collection” reflect an advancement of functional aesthetics from the Bauhaus style. They continue the discrete design language by company founder and designer of the legendary Porsche 911, Prof. F. A. Porsche. The collection’s name represents an homage to the year Bauhaus Dessau was founded.

By launching the “1919 Chronotimer“, Porsche Design has merged architectural design, sportiness and performance in an aesthetic way. The heart of the watch is the mechanical chronograph movement Sellita SW 500 with a power reserve of 48 hours and a date window at “4“. The black-tinted sapphire crystal case back reveals the exclusive energy-optimized Porsche Design rotor. The case measures a diameter of 42 millimeters. The “1919 Chronotimer“ is available in four variations characteristically for Porsche Design: in pure or titanium carbide coated titanium with titanium bracelet or rubber strap. Designed in Austria. Swiss Made.
