Too bad you feel about the app this way. I can see your point, there are not very much watches in there per brand (I didn’t check all brands in the app). However, I think it is indeed a nice try for such a small app. I will send the publisher the link to these comments, maybe they can do something with it (so future upgrades will at least be more complete).

I like this one. It\’s even more complete than the Dutch \”jaarboek\” But for me the real killer apps. on the iPhone is Emerald Chronometer (watch type Geneva in particular) Just try it out for 3,99 Euro

This evening I am having a diner over at an Italian place called Fratelli (just to be in sync with my blog). I meant the Armband Uhren Katalog btw. Then there is also this Uhren Exklusiv annual catalogue which is a bit more complete as for models, but has quite a chaotic lay-out.

Nice try.
I bought the app, but I find it completely useless and actually a shame.
So few watches per brand, in many cases only two or three.
You say “some sort of catalogue/reference material at hand” ?????????
It’s so little, most fanatics know this out of their head.

ps. I’m not a big fan of the paper version of Uhren Katalog as well by the way. I prefer the Armbanduhren Katalog, and let’s see if they come with a iPhone app as well…

I also noticed not every model is featured. However, the same goes for the paper Uhren Katalog that is presented every year. Sometimes, it doesn’t even feature the Moonwatch (3750.50). About as ‘cult’ as the PP Nautilus. I never got refund on these as well I also don’t think seeing Linde Werdelin, Bremont and some other independents in the regular paper version. Probably because it is undoable to cover every single brand out there. I also think it is a bit responsibility of the “unknown” brands to get some exposure in these catalogues…

Although the catalogue in the application is far from complete (and that would make the app VERY big), I think it is still the best (killer) app for watch fanatics. I had it with the applications from Glycine, Breitling, B&R and so on, that only show one watch and is in fact one big commercial. Some of them also/even include a video commercial. I think this is the first useful iPhone app for watch fanatics that want to have some sort of catalogue/reference material at hand when they are on the road..

As for the 6.99 you paid.. I’ll buy you a beer & bitter balls to help you recover.. (disclaimer: This is only valid for Gerard Nijenbrinks)

Hmmm killer App…. It probably would have been if it was only a bit more complete. From a lot of brands only three watches are shown – have a look at f.i. Alain Silberstein, Archimede, De Bethune, Limes, and so on. Three watches are just enough to fill the first screen; this can’t be coincidence, that’s just lazy work.

From other brands only a very small segment of the whole collection is included. At Rolex one of the most popular models, the GMT Master, is not even present; at Patek Philipe the Nautilus doesn’t exist.

Other brands (f.i. Christiaan van der Klaauw, Linde Werdelin, Bremont, and more) are not even in there.

Killer app? At best a ‘nice try’ and hopefully next time they deliver better work. I bought it because of the review (the most expensive iPhone app I ever bought) and am disappointed; where’s the Fratellowatches refund desk?
