Chopard L.U.C GMT One Rose Gold

A few weeks ago we visited London for a special presentation by Chopard. Their manufacture line, L.U.C, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. For this special occasion the company released two new models; the Chopard L.U.C GMT One and the Chopard L.U.C Time Traveler One. In our previous article that we published a few weeks ago we already talked about four models. The versions of the Time Traveler One made of steel, rose gold or platinum. We also covered the steel GMT One as well. However we also saw something that day that we could not discuss with you before.

Chopard made three versions of the Time Traveler One, you might already have wondered: Why did they only make a steel GMT? Well, they didn’t! With the opening of SalonQP 2016, Chopard adds yet another model to the GMT One collection, the 18 carat rose gold Chopard L.U.C GMT One. The measurements are the same as the steel model so 42mm and 11mm thick. It is again water resistant to 50m and has the same L.U.C 01.10-L automatic in-house caliber inside as the steel version. The case is 18ct rose gold, with vertical satin-brushed case middle, polished bezel and case back. The display case back is sapphire crystal and lets you see the movement beautifully decorated with Côtes de Genéve.

The true stunner of the Chopard L.U.C GMT One rose gold is the dial. It is a brown sunburst satin-brushed dial with snailed chapter ring. The hour markers and the numerals are all covered with Super-LumiNova. The circular satin-brushed GMT ring has a silver tone for the am (6:30am to 6:30pm) and brown for the pm. The hands of the L.U.C GMT One rose gold, like the steel version, are dauphine hands and coated with Super-LumiNova. Gold tone baton type and arrow pointed hand serves as the GMT indicator. It has the same luminescent coating as above. The watch comes on a truly beautiful dark brown alligator leather strap with alligator leather lining and 18ct gold pin buckle. It is a spectacular watch even if you prefer stainless steel versions. The watch is being introduced today in connection with the opening of SalonQP in London where Chopard exhibits.
