During the last year, we kept you up-to-date regarding the Lebois & Co re-launch by Dutch watch enthusiast and entrepreneur Tom van Wijlick and his partner Eveline. Last time we showed you one of the last prototypes, but today it’s time to show you the real deal. One of the final tweaks consisted of the caseback and the dials. Early backers for the Lebois & Co funding campaign on Kickstarter will receive their watch shortly, as the 100 first Lebois & Co timepieces are ready and (to be) delivered. I’ve received one of their Avantgarde Date watches last week, to have a look and show you the final result of this first re-launch model of the Lebois & Co brand.

Lebois & Co Avantgarde Date

I have to say that I am smitten by the dial. The satin white dial is just stunning and especially since I know how hard it was to get this right, the result is something Lebois & Co can be proud of. You’ll find applied indices on the dial as well as a minute track with printed Arabic numerals. Lumed silver colored hour and minute hands and a sporty red seconds hand.

Lebois & Co Avantgarde DateThe Lebois & Co Avantgarde Date watch will be delivered in a black leather box with two compartments. The upper compartment contains the Avantgarde Date watch and the lower compartment has a spare (NATO) strap in a beautiful blue tone (matching the blue alligator strap) and a little tool to be able to change it yourself (careful though, and you better use some tape to protect the case and lugs). Furthermore, you’ll find an instruction booklet and a warranty card.

Satin white dial with silvered hour & minute hands and a red second hand.

The stainless steel 40mm case has a beautiful finish and only measures 10.5mm in height. A very comfortable watch on the wrist and due to the size it will probably fit most mens wrists anyway. The caseback on this Avantgarde Date watch, being one of the first 100, have a special engraving and of course a unique number engraved.

Inside, no Miyota movement or even a Sellita that you’ll often find inside microbrands, but Lebois & Co decided to use an ETA 2824-2 for this Avantgarde Date model. A solid performer and offers 38 hours of power reserve and a hh:mm:ss and date feature.

Lebois & Co Avantgarde DateAs written above, the Lebois & Co Avantgarde Date is delivered on a high-quality Louisiana alligator strap and a signed folding clasp. The watch comes with two years of warranty. Orders can be placed online, via the official Lebois & Co webshop.
