Project X Designs created two DLC Rolex Sea-Dweller ref.16600 watches for Sir Roger Moore in 2009 and named it the Sir Roger Moore Edition. This customized watch is now up for auction at Christie’s (lot 181) on the 14th of November 2011 and the entire result will be donated to UNICEF of which Sir Roger Moore is an ambassador. The other Sir Roger More Edition (which is a Rolex Submariner) will remain in his own collection of watches.

Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 Roger Moore Edition

As you can see, a typical ref.16600 Sea-Dweller, but with some very cool modifications like the Diamond Like Carbon coating, including a DLCed luminous dot, or pearl as some refer to it. Furthermore, it features a dial with double red printing, such as the vintage ref.1665 Double Red Sea-Dwellers had in the 1970s. The watch is being delivered on a nato strap, with military fixed bars to keep it safe and in place.

The case back of this watch has been engraved with the Sir Roger Moore Special Edition 02/02 wording and numbering. Besides the customized Sea-Dweller, you will receive its original box and paper work by Rolex. A Project X Designs certificate of customization signed by Sir Roger Moore, a Project X Designs watch roll, hang tag and guarantee card, a signed copy of Sir Roger Moore’s autobiography and a signed photo of Sir Roger Moore in his days as James Bond (007). This Rolex Sea-Dweller with original serial number V444660 is probably being hunted at by a lot of Rolex collectors and Bond aficionados. More in-depth information about the ref.16600 Rolex Sea-Dweller can be found here, an article I wrote in 2009.

Sir Roger Moore featured as James Bond seven (or 007) times. He started his career as Bond in Live and Let Die in 1973, followed by: The Man With the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and ended with A View To A Kill (1985).
