SIHH 2012 just started today and Geo (moderator of the Cartier Forum of Revolution On-Line) brings you a sneak preview from the Cartier booth in Geneva. Most interesting is the skeletonized pocket watch that will be restricted to 10 pieces only.

As you are probably familiar with the tourbillon construction, you know that it practically only makes sense in a pocket watch. Cartier chose to use a tourbillon movement for this limited edition pocket watch, and added on top of that, a chronograph and perpetual calendar. This pocket watch is part of the Fine Watch Making Series (successor of the CPCP – Collection Privée Cartier Paris – series), which is being brought first by Geo @ Revo-Online.

This white gold manual polished watch case measures 49.2mm in diameter, which should make it a perfect fit for every pocket. Cartier developed their own movement for this series of 10 watches and labelled it ‘9436MC’. With a power reserve of 8 days, you can wear this every Sunday and only need to wind it once before storing it in your safe again.
