Blancpain is unique in the world of watchmaking as it is the only house which has mastered the art of placing a carrousel in a wristwatch.

Carrousels were conceived to defy gravity and the associated rate errors when the watch is in a vertical position. How did the idea of this component come up?

A Danish watch-maker working in Coventry England wanted to do something similar but also avoid the Breguet patent. So he invented, what he called “the Carrousel”.
