Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoon – 59 Pieces Only
Remember the Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moonphase (click here for the initial introduction in 2010)? A few iterations later, Linde Werdelin showed us the Oktopus Moonlite, Moon Tatoo and Moon Gold. This BluMoon is actually the 5th creation in this Moon sub-family of the Oktopus.
Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoon
The latest addition to the Oktopus family is this Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoon. Made of Grade 5 Titanium, but finished in such way, that all facets of the Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoon case have the same interesting effect on light reflections as their stainless steel and gold cousins.
Designer Morten Linde (who we’ve interviewed here), says the following: “This is a watch that you can explore indefinitely, because the light will always reflect a little differently”.
The titanium case of the Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoon has this satin, polished and microbillé finishing and the titanium bezel also has a satin finish on top surface, polished facets and microbillé finish in the grooves. Even the little screws in the bezel are made of titanium.
The movement of the Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoonis a so-called bespoke LW calibre with in-house Moon phase complication. In this case, it means that the base movement is a F. Piguet caliber 1150 that has been heavily worked on for Linde Werdelin and equipped with this beautiful Moon phase complication. Linde Werdelin will only produce 59 of this Oktopus BluMoon timepiece. Each watch has its individual number engraved on the titanium case back, that also feature a new Oktopus motif.
What we really like about these Linde Werdelin watches are the depth in the dials (see our Oktopus Titanium Red review here). This Linde Werdelin Oktopus BluMoon is no different and has 5 layers of ‘depth’ in the skeletonised dial. The Arabic numberals as well as the hands are applied with Luminova. The hands are also blued by heat treatment. As you can see on the photo above, the dial plate has a circular Côte de Genève finish. Linde Werdelin’s logo as well as printing of numerals on the dial and the used Moon photos on the Moon phase disc are printed in blue
Linde Werdelin’s Oktopus BluMoon features hours, minutes and seconds, as well as their photo realistic Moon Display, mounted this time on a metallic blue disc. The Oktopus BluMoon comes in a 44mm (w) by 46mm (l) case and the price will be CHF 16,000 excluding VAT.
