The Pinion Watch Company, you might have heard of them before in teasers here and there. Founded in 2013 and based in England, owner and designer Piers Berry’s love for mechanical watches was stronger than himself and decided to bundle his design experience and watch knowledge into his first timepiece, the Pinion Axis. From the box it will be delivered in, the strap it is attach to as well as the watch itself, it has all been designed by Piers. Although being a designer, Piers (and his company Pinion) is passionate about mechanical watches and loves traditional watchmaking.

pinion-axis-black-012The name Pinion refers to the small gear wheels at the heart of mechanical movements. These pinions are often being used to bring the hands of a watch in motion. The Pinion Axis collection consists of simple legible and solid watches made in England but with a Swiss made (ETA2824-2) movement. Heavily influenced by military watches and instruments, legibility and reliability are the key aspects that Pinion is focusing on with this collection of watches.
