Weekend Watch Lists – Top 10 German Watch Brands
It’s weekend! We decided to come up with some easy-to-digest content for the weekend, as you’ve probably been doing enough reading all week. From now on, we will publish our Weekend Watch Lists feature every weekend, to show you overviews with information about the consumer watch market. Our overviews are based on data from on-line watch consumers. Per list we will indicate the countries from which we used the data, as this will vary to keep it interesting. It will be interesting to see how much taste in watches can differ per country and continent. Data is retrieved from Chronolytics.ch, watch market research company that operates under the flag of Ebner Verlag (publishing house of magazines like WatchTime, Uhren Magazine, Chronos etc.).
Last week we showed you the Top 10 watch brands and models over €50.000,- Euro and you probably noticed that A. Lange & Söhne was the only brand from Germany there. However, there are many more German brands, in a different price bandwidth, that deserve some attention. We were wondering how much attention German brands get and how they’re ranked to each other. So, we asked Chronolytics to give us a drill-down of the Top 10 German watch brands that watch consumers from the German speaking countries look for. It tells us which German watch brands get the highest demand.
Don’t confuse the list whether Sinn is more (or perhaps less) popular than A.Lange & Söhne for example, as these two brands are in different price categories and chances are very small that they have the same type of clients. This list shows the demand for all German made watches, including new and pre-owned and how they rank accordingly. Chronolytics tracked 36 different German made brands for this specific query and used data on on-line watch consumers from March 2015.
Top 10 German Watch Brands
The Top 10 German Watch Model overview shows a lot of NOMOS models and while Glashütte Original is ranked #2 in the Top 10 German Watch Brand overview, it has no model in the Top 10 German Watch Model overview. Of course, we also have seen #11 and onwards regarding the models, and we noticed that Glashütte Original showed a lot of different watch models in this list, adding up to a grand total that exceeded the Sinn and NOMOS numbers. The NOMOS collection has fewer different watches (models) than the Sinn and Glashütte Original brand, so they quickly add up to higher numbers per model and get a ranking on the Top 10 German Watch Model overview.
