In this video, RJ and Timo sit down with Emmanuel Gueit to celebrate 30 years of Royal Oak Offshore history from Audemars Piguet. Join us as we talk about the creation of the Offshore collection and unravel some fun mysteries surrounding this refreshingly punk take on luxury watches.

Royal Oak Offshore no. 39

The Royal Oak Offshore no. 39 that once belonged to designer Emmanuel Gueit

In 2023, Audemars Piguet celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore, the (more) masculine version of the iconic Royal Oak watch designed by Gérald Genta. Back in 1993, Audemars Piguet introduced a 42mm version of the Royal Oak, bigger and bolder than ever before, from the hands of a young designer by the name of Emmanuel Gueit.

We talked with Gueit about the assignment from then-CEO Stephen Urquhart to make the Royal Oak cool again and how he succeeded in doing so. Enjoy the video!

A big thank you to Emmanuel Gueit, AP House Amsterdam, and an (anonymous) Audemars Piguet collector from the Netherlands for making his collection available to us.
