You can’t beat a good t-shirt. The ability to turn your torso into a walking billboard is one of life’s simple pleasures. In the past, watchmaking t-shirts were pretty hard to come by. Thankfully, there are a few companies dedicated to changing that. One that deserves your attention is Art of Horology, a Britain-based husband and wife duo taking the watch world by storm.

The primary fare of The Art of Horology is high-quality art prints. The clothing line generally takes a popular model already available as a print and replicates it so it can be worn. But the most recent release from this talented pair is something different. Not only different but also very special for Fratello fanatics. That’s right, the famous Omega “Dot Over 90” has finally been immortalized in garb. I don’t know about you, but as soon as I saw this tee, I started counting my pennies.

Brand ambassadors

It’s due for release very soon. When it does eventually drop, I imagine that Liam and Clare will be hit with a ton of orders. Perhaps the thing I like most about this (soon-to-be) bestseller, is that it turns wearers into brand ambassadors, which, hopefully, will draw more attention towards the prints.

Every piece of art is created by Liam. There are already plenty of classic options available on their website, but more are being added all the time. One of the coolest aspects of this self-owned operation is how flexible Liam can be when it comes to creating a custom print. Perhaps you have a rare Prim (like the model featured by Tomas here) or love the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Military Dial (that Mike put through the mill here). If you want to hang a picture of your beloved beater on the wall, this is the place for you.

Good quality products

I recently met-up with Clare and Liam at the Watch It All About Fair in Rugby, England. I was impressed with how they juggled raising two small children while (successfully) growing a business that, on the surface, has a very niche appeal. Over 11 thousand followers on Instagram, however, suggests that niche is ever-widening. The key to continuing that trend? Good quality products. Art of Horology certainly has those…

Part of the reason for my visit to the WIAA fair was to find out for myself, firsthand, whether the prints had the same kind of gravitas in person as they seemed to online. Simply put, they did. The print quality is top-notch, and the precision of Liam’s creations is very satisfying indeed. One thing that surprised me, however, was how the Tudor Black Bay GMT sweatshirt came out. Having worked in garment decoration many moons ago, I was skeptical that the image would look as characterful on cotton as it did on paper. I shouldn’t have worried. The printing is crisp and clear (and that’s a full-color image).

Another affordable accessory…

That gives me a lot of hope for the quality of the Dot Over 90 shirts soon to be released. I will definitely buy one (and probably don it for future Speedmaster events). As soon as I saw it I knew I had to let the Fratelli know: Add another affordable accessory to the birthday wishlist because this is one trend that the world definitely needed.
