Fratello Talks: The Best Chronographs Of 2025 (So Far)
A couple of weeks ago, we discussed what we considered some of the best watches of 2025 overall. We realized that chronographs were somewhat underrepresented in that episode and couldn’t let that fly. Today on Fratello Talks, we’re discussing the best chronographs of 2025 (so far). You join Nacho, RJ, and Thomas in the studio, each of whom has selected three of their favorite chronos released over the year until now. So, if you’re looking to do a bit of on-the-fly timing (or want a perfectly soft-boiled egg), put your finger on the pusher and get ready; it’s time to look at some of 2025’s most remarkable chronographs. But first, time for a wrist check.
Wrist check
As unsurprising as the sentence “RJ is wearing a Speedmaster” might be, it’s not every day that the Speedy in question is a Mk II from 1974. Today, however, is one such day.
Thomas is wearing the new Casio EFK-100 in forged carbon. This is the brand’s first outing into mechanical watches. As he’s working on a hands-on review, Thomas is spending some time with a couple of the models. If you want to read his full thoughts on these new automatic Edifice models from Casio, you can do so here.
And finally, Nacho has come correct for a podcast on chronographs, just not for those released in 2025. This Tissot Seastar Navigator is from 1973, making it one year older than RJ’s Mk II. So, it matches the theme in spirit, though the chronographs we’ll discuss today will be far more modern.
Fratello Talks: The Best Chronographs Of 2025 (So Far)
We picked our overall favorites of the year so far a couple of weeks ago and noticed a distinct lack of chronographs in the selection. So, today we decided to pick our favorite pusher-equipped, elapsed-timekeepers released in 2025 so far. As always, we won’t give them all away here. However, you will get a preview of one pick from each of the guys. Let’s start with Thomas, who selected the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris chronograph. Introduced at Watches and Wonders earlier this year, it’s a great example of the brand’s more sporty offerings.
RJ has selected the new Grand Seiko Tokyo Lion Tentagraph as one of his picks. This model was also introduced at Watches and Wonders and stood out as one of the brand’s bolder releases. You do not see A lion-inspired chronograph every day, but it works well in creating a unique-looking watch.
Finally, Nacho chose the Sinn 613 St UTC. This typically toolish offering from the Frankfurt-based brand combines GMT and chronograph functionality, integrating both nicely despite the busy dial layout.
You’ll have to listen if you want to know the remaining six picks. For now, let us know your favorite chronographs of 2025 (so far), and remember to tune in next week for a new episode of Fratello Talks/
