IWC Introduces George Russell’s First Limited-Edition Pilot’s Watches
George Russell took fourth in last year’s Formula One championship in his Mercedes-AMG Petronas race monster. He did so by reaching the podium nine times, including two wins in both Canada and Singapore. No, he didn’t become the world champion, but bookmakers have high hopes for him in 2026. That’s probably why IWC honors the Brit with two of his very first limited-edition Pilot’s watches. One is the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, and the other is the Pilot’s Watch Automatic. Both feature a 41mm black zirconium oxide ceramic case with an asphalt-like dial and details in Russell’s signature shade of blue.
The first Formula One race of 2026 is exactly one month away and will take place at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Australia. Bookies are already trying to predict who’ll be the 2026 world champion. Both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, the two previous champions, are high up on their lists. However, George Russell is actually the one they think will take the trophy home this time. So let’s take a look at these perfectly timed IWC limited-edition Pilot’s Watches.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell
As said, there are two options. I’ll start with the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, which you can use to time Russell’s laps. Its black zirconium oxide ceramic case has a 41.9mm diameter and a 15.5mm thickness — keep in mind that this is an automatic chronograph. The screw-down crown is Ceratanium, and the titanium case back features an engraving of George Russell’s number 63 in the center. Underneath that case back lies IWC’s caliber 69380. This is the brand’s automatic column-wheel-equipped chronograph movement. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, features 33 jewels, and has a 46-hour power reserve. It also offers manual winding, hacking seconds, and a day/date display.
The black dial features an asphalt-like texture and the typical layout with a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 9, and running seconds at 6. The logo and cutouts for the day and date are at 3 o’clock. Finally, the real George Russell touch is that all printing and lume are executed in his signature blue — the same color on his helmet. The textured rubber strap with IWC’s EasX-Change quick-release system also comes in that same color and with a Ceratanium pin buckle.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell
The second watch in this series is George Russell’s version of the IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic. It, too, has a case made of black zirconium oxide ceramic. This one, though, is a bit smaller, with a 41mm diameter and an 11.4mm profile. Its screw-down crown is also made of Ceratanium, and it also features a titanium case back engraved with Russell’s number 63. The IWC automatic caliber 32112 powers this Pilot’s Watch. It ticks at 28,800 vibrations per hour, features 21 jewels, and has an impressive power reserve of 120 hours.
The black dial has the same asphalt-like texture and George Russel blue details. This time, however, there are no sub-dials, and other than the hours, minutes, and seconds, the Pilot’s Watch Automatic only shows the date, not the day. It comes on the same textured rubber strap with IWC’s EasX-Change quick-release system and a Ceratanium pin buckle.
Limited editions of 1,063 pieces each
The IWC George Russell Pilot’s Watches are limited in number. However, with 1,063 pieces of each, there should be enough for the die-hard fans. Then again, if Russell manages to become the world champion, there might actually not be enough, and their value might go up significantly; who knows? The chronograph (ref. IW389411) retails for €12,900, and the three-hand automatic version (ref. IW328107) costs €9,200.
