Fratello Talks: Dubai Watch Week 2025 Highlights And Other Recent Releases
Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen an unseasonal deluge of watch releases, with brands big and small unveiling fresh pieces at an incessant pace. Today, on Fratello Talks, we’re taking a moment to look back at some highlights and reflect on what stood out to us. Nacho, RJ, and Thomas are on the microphones to break down a diverse array of novelties and share their thoughts on emerging trends. Notable launches include several debuts tied to Dubai Watch Week 2025, which displayed the biennial event’s growth in scale and relevance. We’re also exploring the new fourth-generation Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean models, which introduce meaningful updates to one of the brand’s most recognizable collections. With so many intriguing pieces arriving at once, there’s certainly plenty to discuss. But before we get into it, let’s see what’s on the wrist.
Wrist check
Thomas is wearing the still relatively new Micromilspec Worldtimer, a model that expands on the earlier Milgraph platform. The Worldtimer enhances practical functionality with a ceramic bezel designed for tracking multiple time zones. While it maintains the straightforward, utilitarian aesthetic associated with the brand, the Worldtimer introduces a more modern element through its updated materials and refined construction.
RJ is back to business as usual with his gold Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary (ref. 310.60.42.50.99.001). Like a trusty, well-worn pair of golden slippers, it’s RJ’s home base. Even though he’ll sometimes switch it up, it’s never long until he comes back to it.
Nacho is wearing the new fourth-generation Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. Specifically, it’s the orange-bezel model on the black rubber strap (ref. 217.32.42.21.01.003). It’s been a somewhat polarizing release, and we discuss it in detail in today’s episode. But it’s far from the only notable release of the past couple of weeks.
