IFL Watches Introduces The Bulova Super Seville Starry Night
The folks at IFL Watches have made watch dials the small but very adaptable canvas for their art. We have seen a wide variety of different hand-painted dials from the brand over time. For its latest creative challenge, IFLW drew inspiration from the work of the renowned Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. To be more specific, the brand’s creative team created a version of the painter’s world-famous Starry Night painting. The artists used his characteristic spiral patterns to design the dials for this new Bulova Super Seville Starry Night. It’s time to find out more.
We’ve covered quite a few IFL Watches releases over time, and the dials have often featured street-art-inspired designs. For this new Starry Night dial, the brand went back a little further in time. Vincent van Gogh created his famous Starry Night painting in June of 1889. He painted it while voluntarily admitted to the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum. The painting depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room just before sunrise. Van Gogh added the imaginary village, as that is not next to the former monastery, as the painting implies.
The story of the IFLW Bulova Super Seville Starry Night
However, the painting is predominantly known worldwide for its starry night sky. Van Gogh painted the sky using his iconic swirling technique. IFLW’s artists employed this technique to create a dial inspired by Van Gogh’s work. The canvas for this is the gold-colored version of the Bulova Super Seville, ensuring that this watch is quite an eye-catcher.
As you can see, the dial is the brand’s interpretation of the famous painting and uses the same technique for the sky. However, the overall artwork depicts a different scene of a small boy sitting on a rooftop with a cat beside him. Both of them are mesmerized by the beautiful sky above them, which is full of movement and color.
The overall composition is cleverly created using three bigger parts. First, there’s the roof, which is painted in dark red terracotta, with rays of moonlight hitting the individual tiles. Then, the large upper part of the dial features dark blue clouds contrasted by the lighter swirls of blue, white, and yellow. Finally, the smaller center portion is where you will find the young boy and the cat, accompanied by the treetops and set against a lighter blue background. With its three distinguishable sections, the dial will speak to you from a distance.
When the true magic reveals itself
But the most magical aspects of the dial reveal themselves when you zoom in on the different parts. As you can see, the attention given to intricate details is super impressive. It creates a dial that comes to life upon close inspection. From the individual roof tiles to the treetops to the beautifully executed starry sky, IFLW’s version of the Starry Night painting creates an entirely new scenery that looks super impressive.
As mentioned, the canvas for the artwork is the gold-colored version of the Bulova Super Seville. The watch features a stainless steel case with a gold IP coating. This case has a 37.5mm diameter, a 10.5mm thickness, and a 42.3mm lug-to-lug. Originally white, the dial dons case-matching gold-tone indexes with lume tips.
Of course, the white base dial has been transformed into the impressive artwork. What remains is the white chapter ring that features the minute track and Roman numerals for the hours. It not only retains the functionality of displaying the time, but it also serves as a nice frame for the painting. Stylishly completing the look is an integrated three-row stainless steel bracelet. To match the case, it also has a gold-colored IP coating.
The Bulova NM10 Precisionist caliber
Inside the case, you will find Bulova’s NM10 Precisionist movement. This high-precision quartz caliber operates at a 262kHz frequency and is accurate to within a few seconds per year. Additionally, the caliber can withstand extreme temperature changes, and the seconds hand glides smoothly over the dial. It is a perfectly reliable and accurate power train for this elegant 1970s-style watch.

That’s why this new Van Gogh-inspired dial is a pleasant surprise from the creative team at IFL Watches.
