IFL Watches Introduces The Venezianico Arsenale Arlecchino Inspired By The Venice Carnival

IFL Watches has graced us with a wide variety of hand-painted dials for watches from several brands. In August 2025, IFLW worked with Italian brand Venezianico for the first time on the Arsenale Venus. The concept of that watch was to celebrate Venezianico’s Venetian roots. For the new Arsenale Arlecchino, the two brands take the next step in exploring the rich history of Venice. The new Arsenale Arlecchino celebrates the world-famous Venice Carnival in proper, colorful style.

For their first collaboration, IFL Watches and Venezianico created a special collector’s edition of the Arsenale with a hand-painted tribute to Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. This next collaborative effort celebrates the famous Venice Carnival. It results in a colorful creation that is the perfect next collector’s edition celebrating Venice. The hand-painted dial features a colorful mask surrounded by swirling ribbons of vivid hues, capturing the spirit of the Carnevale di Venezia, which takes place every February.

The details of the Venezianico Arsenale Arlecchino

The canvas for this creative effort is the Venezianico Arsenale. I had the chance to try out this watch on multiple occasions with different dials. I especially liked the Arsenale Avventurina model, which I reviewed alongside the Arsenale Platino. Both models offer great value for money and look great with the special dials. Having said that, those two dials are nowhere near as colorful as this new one that the creative team at IFLW came up with.

Before we dive deeper into it, let’s talk specs first. The Arsenale is Venezianico’s modern sports watch with an integrated bracelet. The watch has a 40mm stainless steel case with a 9.95mm thickness, a 44mm length, and a 50m water resistance rating. The integrated Canova Concept steel bracelet tapers nicely from the case to the push-button folding clasp. In addition to looking great, it is a joy to wear. Just like the Avventurina model, the Arlecchino houses the Miyota 9039. This automatic caliber is part of Miyota’s premium 9000 series, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers a 42-hour power reserve.

The Arsenale is an excellent canvas for IFLW’s artists. They chose the black-dial version of the Arsenale to create this special Arlecchino version. If you look closely, the Venezianico cross and the applied hour markers are still visible. The printed minute track is also visible where the artwork does not cover it. This ensures that you will always be able to read the time accurately.

But the dial is not necessarily about practicality, of course. As you can see, the colorful mark takes center stage, instantly transporting you to the Venice Carnival. As mentioned, this carnival takes place every February, and during that time, people’s true identities are hidden behind masks. It is based on the idea of giving everyone, regardless of their social standing, the opportunity to be who they want to be. The Carnival of Venice originated in the 11th century and, over time, saw aristocrats dancing alongside commoners, allowing people to adopt a different identity for a few days of the year. It all stems from the idea that the liberation that comes from hiding one face to reveal another, more authentic self.

The colorful mask is the perfect representation of the Venice Carnival

The Venezianico Arsenale Arlecchino perfectly captures this spirit with a depiction of the world-famous masks that are visible all over the city during the Venice Carnival. The white mask emerges from the backdrop and is surrounded by colorful ribbons in vivid oranges, blues, greens, and yellows. The ribbons seem to dance and flow across the dial like confetti in the streets of Venice during the festivities. A notable detail is that the team at IFLW chose not to depict a specific carnival character. By doing so, the dial truly represents the spirit of choosing to be whoever you want to be, which has made the event such a mysterious and joyful celebration that has drawn people to Venice for over nine centuries.

IFL Watches and Venezianico will produce 200 pieces of this limited-edition Venezianico Arsenale Arlecchino, and each will cost €1,390 / US$1,390 / £1,190. The watch comes standard on a stainless steel bracelet, but the package also includes a black rubber strap. As with all IFLW’s timepieces, each dial is hand-painted by the brand’s artists, meaning no two watches are identical.
