Introducing: The Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 With A Color-Changing Embossed Dial
The Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 is a limited edition of just nine watches, and it’s the result of bringing together one Slovak and two Czech watch-loving parties. Young Slovak watch brand Biatec started its operations in 2016. Chronoshop has been in business since 2007, and journalist Jan Lidmaňský has been writing about watches for 20 years, making him the veteran of the trio. The result of their joint efforts is a watch with a color-changing yet minimalist embossed dial.
The Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 celebrates the opening of Chronoshop’s new premises, which happened in the middle of last year. The watch’s limited production of nine pieces links to the new boutique’s address in Prague, on the first floor of Široká Street 9. The embossed minimalist dial, free of any logo or inscriptions, features a color reminiscent of the facade of that historic building commissioned by prominent Czech painter Václav Eduard Haspekl in 1908. When light hits the embossed dial, its color changes from fresh salmon to soft apricot.
The Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 is a joint effort
Jakub Sivek from Chronoshop, Peter Kozar from Biatec, and watch journalist Jan Lidmaňský jointly designed the dial with its elegant trio of austere hands. They kept things simple yet sophisticated. But there are also some well-considered, practical features, such as a sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides so the delicate dial can be admired without hindrance.
Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 features a stainless steel 40mm case with an 11.15mm thickness and a 47.5mm lug-to-lug length. Another practical feature is the case’s ceramic protective layer, significantly increasing scratch resistance. The sides of the case showcase precise brushing complemented by a polished bezel and several other details.
Slovak, Czech, and Swiss
Inside the Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 beats a top-grade 4Hz Sellita SW200-1 with decorative perlage finishing and blued screws. You can take a look at it through the sapphire window of the screws-affixed case back. The most prominent feature here is the gold-finished rotor. Its color corresponds to the entrance doors of the building on Široká Street. In addition, Chronoshop’s coordinates and the individual number of each watch are elegantly marked on the metal movement holder.
The Biatec Majestic Chronoshop 09 comes complete with a steel three-row bracelet with a robust folding clasp equipped with a practical extension. This exclusive LE costs CZK 44,009 (including VAT), which converts to about US$2,003 or €1,757 at the time of publishing. You can find out here if the limited-edition watch is still available.
