Breitling announces two new Endurance Pro models for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon for 2025. The events occur in Nice, France, and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, with the championship finale in Marbella, Spain. To coincide with the upcoming races, the Endurance Pro uses new color combos to freshen up for the exotic locales. Specifically celebrating the Andalusian region of Marbella, Spain, the turquoise and orange model uses a Breitlight case renowned in the Endurance Pro range. In comparison, the titanium model reflects Hawaiian culture with light blue accents and a sea and sunset-inspired IRONMAN logo at 6 o’clock. Let’s jump in.

The Breitling Endurance Pro turns five this month. Who would’ve thought such a counter-cultural take on a luxury sports watch would be an enduring success? The respected Swiss brand name mixed with actual adventuring credentials seems to be a hit. Owners I speak to put it down to being a watch that can truly take any knocks and not feel the pain of a dent, scratch, or broken spring. When they call an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak a “sports” watch, I can only giggle to myself. Meanwhile, the Endurance Pro is something you can comfortably wear on a cycling tour, rock climbing, surfing, or just looking after toddlers for an afternoon.

Breitling Endurance Pro IRONMAN World Championship 2025 Edition

To be thorough, it’s worth covering what powers the Endurance Pro. The range exclusively uses the thermo-compensated SuperQuartz movement nicknamed Breitling Caliber 82. What the quartz caliber lacks in mechanical passion makes up for it with shock resistance and accuracy. While it may be a downgrade on Breitling’s venerable B01 chronograph caliber, the quartz movement still provides the chronograph function. Where the function differs is that the Endurance Pro is for timing short-term events. The central chronograph seconds hand counts up to a minute, with the 3 o’clock counter timing the 1/10th second intervals. Timing sub-seconds means that the hand whips around at quite a pace with the chronograph activated. You rarely see this micro-timing feature on mechanical watches, save for Zenith’s El Primero Chronomaster Sport. The counter totalizer at 9 o’clock lasts 30 minutes, so this watch is more for timing a sprint than a marathon.

The 44mm titanium case makes this a more premium release among the Endurance Pro collection despite the weight disadvantage. We’re only talking 20 grams more at 86.5 grams than the Breitlight version. But this version will still wear light on the wrist and take knocks. Although you may notice more surface scratches than on the scratch-resistant Breitlight version, it all adds character. Surprisingly, the premium version at €4,100 / US$4,150 / £3,400 is limited to 500 pieces, more than the Breitlight edition at 300. An alternating blue and light blue gradient runs the circumference of the pulsometer scale. These vibrant shades are complemented by striking orange accents on the chronograph hands and minute scale. A gray dial is paired with an Azzuro blue rubber strap and matching crown grip to offset the vibrancy.

The 300-piece limited edition Breitlight Endurance Pro celebrates the finale event in Marbella, Spain. With a turquoise ombré dial and orange accents, the vivid colors stand apart from the dark case. Breitlight is Breitling’s proprietary polymer material. Being 43% lighter than stainless steel gives it endless wearability and high resistance to scratches. The case diameter is also 44mm with a thickness of 12.5mm, the same as the titanium edition.

With a 100-meter water resistance, the model is suitable as a vacation watch or for when the going gets rough. My hesitation is that although the turquoise IRONMAN rubber strap continues the dial theme, the crown grip is the same blue as the titanium model. It would’ve been better to have a matching turquoise crown grip for consistency. The Breitlight edition is €3,600 / US$3,550 / £2,950 and will be available online via Breitling.com and in boutiques.
