Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One launched at Salon QP 2014

Besides the launch of new watch models, no less than four new watch brand launches could be found at this years SalonQP in London. For Fratellowatches Emmanuel Bouchet was the most intriguing with the official launch of the brand and their first watch, the Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One.

Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One

Frenchman Emmanuel Bouchet, who held various positions at the most prestigious watch manufactures and who is well known for creating Harry Winston’s Opus 12, chose SalonQP to officially launch his own brand and first watch model, the Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One.

A blend of architecture, technical sophistication, fine craftsmanship and an avant-garde vision on time describes Emmanuel Bouchet’s philosophy on his watches very well. His first timepiece, the Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One, pays tribute to traditional watchmaking and know-how, however breaks the traditional codes by showing the movement’s internals in order to provide an interesting visual effect.

Built into a 44 mm platinum, 18 crt gold or titanium case, the caliber EB-1963 gives the essence of the mechanism a prominent place on the dial. Positioned in the center of the dial a completely re-designed escape wheel and anchor, which regulates the 1/10th of a minute hand, give a beautiful view on the ticking of time.

Emmanuel-Bouchet-007Except for the special escapement, the following functions can be found in the multi-level dial which is made of sapphire discs floating over an onyx or chalcedony base. At 12 o’clock seconds are indicated, with underneath a day & night indicator. Minutes and tenth of minutes (by a 1/2 of a minute retrograde hand) are displayed at 4 o’clock, while hours are displayed at 8. A power reserve indicator will be placed at the back of the movement, however isn’t shown in the pictured prototype yet.

The caliber EB-1963 is a mechanical hand-wound movement composed of 283 parts, with 64 jewels. It has a variable inertia balance wheel (18.000/hr) with a Breguet balance spring, and gets it’s 70 hour power reserve from two barrels.

Emmanuel-Bouchet-005We received the information that the price of the gold versions will be around € 76.000,=; the price of the titanium version has yet to be confirmed. More information on the Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One and the brand itself can be found through the official Emmanuel Bouchet website.
