Introducing: Three Complicated Louis Vuitton Escale Watches — The Escale Minute Repeater, Worldtime Flying Tourbillon, And Twin Zone
In the case of this trio of new Louis Vuitton watches, it’s good to know what the name means. Escale, in French, means “stopover.” LV made a name for itself by producing luxury luggage and steamer trunks. And the art of travel is what served as inspiration for the relaunched Escale models that debuted in 2024. The name Escale helps you forget about the frantic hassle of speedy boarding. Instead, it invites you to enjoy gracefully traveling in style, with time on your side and plenty of leeway to savor a stopover with a complicated watch on your wrist. Meet the Louis Vuitton Escale Minute Repeater, Escale Worldtime Flying Tourbillon, and Escale Twin Zone.
Louis Vuitton relaunched the Escale in 2024 with a refined design language and a time-only configuration. In late 2025, the fabulous, soft-rocking Escale Malachite debuted. Now, 2026 marks the year the collection enters high-horology territory. The Escale Minute Repeater, Escale Worldtime Flying Tourbillon, and Escale Twin Zone feature historical complications presented in an original style.
Three complicated Louis Vuitton Escale watches — first stop, the Escale Minute Repeater
The Escale Minute Repeater (W3PGA0) is not necessarily a travel watch, but having it with you while traveling isn’t exactly a form of punishment. When confronted with an unexpected delay, playing with the 40 × 12.3mm pink gold watch, with its polished bezel, satin-brushed case sides, polished and brushed lugs, and polished crown and case back, helps you stay zen. Upon activating the minute repeater’s slide, discreetly integrated into the lugs, the hand-shaped, ear-tuned gong delivers a clear and powerful chime. This soothing sound also helps you keep track of time most discreetly.
The minute repeater caliber LFT SO 13.01, developed by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, requires over four weeks for assembly and finishing. It features Côtes de Genève, hand-polished anglage, and snailing throughout. The 432-part, 3Hz movement pairs a jump-hour display at 6 o’clock with a retrograde minute track on the dial’s perimeter. There are also subtle references to Louis Vuitton’s iconic trunks, like the bracket-inspired minute track with nail-like markers. Moving inward, we see that traditional guilloché takes center stage in this contemporary design. The central dial is handcrafted on a rose engine and finished with a radiant flammé guilloché pattern. The retrograde minute hand returns smoothly to zero after an hour, its motion regulated by an integrated damping system.
The Escale Minute Repeater comes fitted with a grained beige calfskin strap with a smooth light brown calfskin lining. It closes with an 18K rose gold folding buckle. The watch has a price on request.
Whirling around the world with the Louis Vuitton Escale Worldtime Flying Tourbillon
You would think the world is the center of the universe because of the central tourbillon. It is not, but the “whirlwind” in the middle of the dial makes the already spectacularly colorful Escale Worldtime Flying Tourbillon (W3PT41) even more charismatic. The Grand Feu enamel flags and the centrally placed flying tourbillon bring dynamic motion to the dial. Building on the legacy of the original Escale Worldtime, the dial features 24 hand-painted flags. Drawing inspiration from historic Louis Vuitton motifs, it takes 35 colors and a whole week to complete.
Inside the 40 × 12.8mm platinum case, which has a polished bezel and brushed sides, beats the in-house automatic caliber LFT VO 05.01. This 337-part movement makes it easy and visually enjoyable to keep track of 24 time zones on the rotating city disc. The star-shaped monogram flower tourbillon completes one rotation every 60 seconds. Through the display case back, an 18K rose gold oscillating weight, along with the various movement decorations, gives you plenty to look at while waiting for your delayed flight.
The 50m-water-resistant watch comes on a blue calfskin strap. It’s lined with black calf leather and closes with a platinum folding clasp. The price is on request.
FYI, there’s also a non-tourbillon version of this worldtimer available. The Escale Worldtime (W3PTA1) has the same 40mm platinum case and the same colorful dial with the enamel flags. Just the tourbillon in the middle is missing. However, this less complicated version also has a price on request.
Synchronized travel made possible by the Louis Vuitton Escale Twin Zone
The dual-time Escale Twin Zone (W3PG71), with its opaline and blue-lacquered day/night indicator at 12 o’clock day/night indication, is the most straightforward travel watch of the three novelties presented. The 40 × 12.52mm rose gold watch with polished and brushed details features a silvery sunburst satin-finished center dial that immediately puts you in a globe-trotting mood. The engraved meridians and parallels underneath the 18K rose gold hour and minute hands are design details that make it obvious this watch is ready to travel.
The LFT VO15.01 caliber powers the different functions. This self-winding movement, developed by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, comprises 201 components. It beats at a 4Hz frequency, has a 68-hour power reserve, and is visible through the case back’s sapphire display, which also reveals Haute Horlogerie finishing. The pink gold rim of the case back shows the serial number engraved on an 18K white gold plate.
Importantly, this luxurious travel companion is water resistant to 50 meters. In other words, it’s not just a handsome watch. The disastrous effect salt water will have on the arroyo-gray Saffiano leather strap and its beige calfskin lining might be the only reason not to take the watch, with its 18K rose gold pin buckle, swimming. The price of the Escale Twin Zone is on request.
Also available is a platinum version of the Escale Twin Time with diamonds. The reference W3PT61 has an aventurine center dial, engraved meridians and parallels, and the flange is set with 120 baguette-cut diamonds, totaling 2.15 carats. Yes, you guessed it: the price is on request.
