Yema is always updating and improving its extensive collection. One of the main focus points of the last few years has been to equip an increasing number of its watches with a proprietary caliber. It led to the introduction of the Skin Diver powered by the CMM.20 movement last April. This year, the French brand starts with that classic-looking diver. The newest additions to the young lineup are two Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 models in gray and green. The first is a limited edition, while the second is a regular addition to the catalog. Let’s find out more!

I have had the pleasure of reviewing a substantial number of Yema watches over the years, and almost without exception, doing so has been a fun experience. If you are a fan of affordable retro-styled dive watches, it’s hard to ignore the French brand. But we’ve also seen that Yema has moved into a new direction with a series of modern proprietary calibers. One of those is the CMM.20 micro-rotor movement. We have seen it power an increasing number of watches in Yema’s collection. Last year, it also became the standard caliber for the Skin Diver series. It displays the strategy to keep moving forward and increase the number of watches powered by the CMM movements.

The story of the Yema Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20

You might think that the new Yema Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 models are a logical follow-up after the update of the regular Skin Diver collection in 2025. But that is not entirely true. In the summer of 2024, Yema already released a limited-edition Skin Diver Slim with the CMM.20 caliber, which I had the chance to try out. That slimmer version of the Skin Diver model now gets a follow-up in the form of a duo of bronze models. The first of the two has a dark gray dial, and the second features a stylish green dial.

Let’s start with the specs of the two models, which are inspired by the classic Yema Skin Diver from the 1960s. Both watches have a 39mm bronze case with a 12.2mm thickness and 47mm lug-to-lug. This case features a brushed finish with polished bevels for some nice visual contrast. Additionally, it has a depth rating of 300 meters, partially due to the oversized screw-down crown on the right side. The bronze bezel of each model features a sapphire crystal insert. The limited-edition gray version has a “ghost” bezel insert with dark numerals, while the regular green model dons a stylish green insert with white numerals.

Each watch also contains a matte enamel dial matching the color of the bezel insert. The dials feature a set of trapezoidal indexes, including the characteristic markers with numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock.

The gray-dial version uses lime-colored Super-LumiNova for the hands and indexes and features bronze-colored text. For the green-dial version, the indexes and hands are filled with crisp white Super-LumiNova, and the text on the dial is also white. These differences create a distinct feel for each version.

If you turn the watch around, you’ll get a view of the CMM.20 inside. It comes courtesy of the brand’s manufacture in Morteau. The micro-rotor caliber is only 3.7mm thick and features a bidirectional tungsten micro-rotor, Incabloc shock protection, and a Glucydur balance wheel.

Furthermore, the movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 70-hour power reserve. The caliber maintains an accuracy of -3/+7 seconds per day and features modern finishing, including a micro-blasted treatment on the mainplate and bridges, as well as a black ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) coating.

Final thoughts on the new Yema Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 Limited Edition

Each watch comes with a 20mm FKM Viton rubber strap that matches the dial color. Both straps feature a brushed IP bronze pin buckle to match the hue of the case. From experience, I know that these straps are super comfortable. Add the slim case profile, which is only 10mm thick without the 2.2mm that the domed sapphire crystal adds, and you know these new Yema Skin Diver models will wear like a dream. On top of that, they celebrate the brand’s rich history of dive watches in style.

As mentioned, the green model is a non-limited edition and will join the regular lineup. Both watches are available for €2,249 / US$2,495 / £2,040 on the official Yema website, and shipping will start in February 2026. With their retro styling and bronze cases, these new models are two more charming, stylish additions to the French brand’s ever-expanding catalog. By equipping the Skin Diver Slim Bronze models with its modern CMM.20 movement, Yema perfectly combines its rich past with modern technology. It results in two tempting offerings that will undoubtedly be popular with fans.
