We are once again looking to expand our team: Fratello’s reach continues to expand, and we’re growing our content creation capabilities to match the demands of an increasingly engaged global audience. If this sounds exciting to you, and you would like to join our growing team as a photographer on a three-day-per-week basis, read on and prepare your application.

Fratello is one of the most read and fastest-growing online watch magazines in the world. We are happy to open our doors for an additional team member to join our group of watch enthusiasts focused on creating original and opinionated content. We produce videos, podcasts, social media content, and, of course, articles for our magazine. In order to keep on growing sustainably, we are looking for a new team member to help us create stunning photography of watches to enrich our articles and social media. Additionally, basic video production skills are a plus.

As a photographer for Fratello you are required to work in our HQ in The Hague, because the watches need to be stored and shot in our studio. However, we are happy for the role to be partly remote, e.g. for editing of the pictures and videos, which can be done from your home office.

Your Work At Fratello HQ As Photographer

First and foremost, we are looking for a skilled photographer who ensures that our editorial content is enriched with high-quality images of the watches we cover. You will be responsible for deciding on the right creative representation of these watches from start to finish: From choosing the props, to creating the right composition, and finally editing the batch of pictures you took. Most of your work will be done in our studio at our HQ in The Hague and in your home office, but there will also be times when we travel to events and fairs, or visit watch brands directly.

Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping our studio in good shape and handling logistics for the watches that come in for photography: They need to be stored appropriately, kept track of, and be made ready for pickup once content creation is done.

Your Responsibilities

  • Creating product and lifestyle photography of watches in our office and on location
  • Deciding on a creative direction or executing on an existing briefing
  • Editing all pictures according to our internal standards and guidelines
  • Delivering all required formats for our channels (landscape, portrait, etc.)
  • Collaborating with editors, writers, and social media teams to develop visual concepts that support editorial content
  • Processing, storing, and documenting the pipeline of watches in our studio

Your Skills

  • Understanding the intricacies of watch photography
  • Strong proficiency in professional camera equipment, studio lighting, and post-processing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to create both clean product images and engaging lifestyle photography
  • Basic video production skills are a plus

You Are A Great Fit If

  • You have a genuine interest in watches, design, mechanical objects, or luxury products
  • You take ownership of your work and can manage projects from concept to delivery
  • You are well organized, and you enjoy creating and maintaining lean processes and structured environments
  • You thrive in a small, entrepreneurial team where responsibilities can vary from day to day
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English

What to expect at Fratello

Fratello started in 2004 as a hobby project for our founder, Robert-Jan Broer, to share his passion for watches with the world. That spirit is still at the core of Fratello. We may have grown rapidly and are now one of the most widely read titles in the world of luxury watches, but we kept our identity as a group of watch enthusiasts and coworkers who share a passion for watches. It’s a dynamic team in which everyone has their area of expertise and can work independently, yet we all have each other’s backs.

Our HQ in The Hague is located in a modern startup hub, the Caballero Fabriek. Surrounded by both established and up-and-coming companies, it is the perfect spot for us to continue to grow, learn, and collaborate. Our vision is to unite watch lovers under a brand that is home to an engaging community. Sounds good? Join us on this journey! Send an email with your CV to [email protected]. We can’t wait to hear from you.
