Since 2010, we’ve been visiting the SalonQP exhibition in London. We witnessed the steep growth in popularity of SalonQP. Growing so fast, that SalonQP quickly (in 2011) needed a bigger venue, the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. Over 85 brands are exhibiting this year in London, plus a number of retailers and a couple of companies specialized in watch accessories. The cool thing about SalonQP is that for consumers – other than shows like BaselWorld and SIHH – you can really talk to the brands, fiddle around with the watches and discuss them. Of course, only a few brands will perhaps show a novelty especially for SalonQP, as BaselWorld, SIHH and Watches & Wonders remain to be the big exhibitions, but trust me, at those shows there is little time to really sit down and enjoy a conversation and talk about new pieces.
The SalonQP location is just awesome, as you can see on the image taken by Bert. A wonderful place with enough space to walk around at ease (especially if you plan your visit wisely) and enjoy all the beautiful timepieces that are displayed there. The drinks and canapés are brilliant (I assume it will be no different this year) and I can tell you that the brand representatives really take their time to talk to you, show and explain their watches.
Like the previous years, we will be there as well with a small team (Michael, Balazs and me) on Thursday and Friday. For those of you who can’t make it to London this year, we will do a report on the SalonQP exhibition (click here for last year’s visit report). An overview of the exhibitors can be found here.
You can also meet with us if you’d like, as we will be walking around there. We would love to hear your feedback on SalonQP for our trip report and on our writings in general of course. You can sent us an email up front (info at fratellowatches.com) or while you’re there.
