Since 2020, Gagà Laboratorio has produced distinctive wristwatches with Italian flair and Swiss precision. The company’s catalog comprises two model lines, the Labormatic and the Aqualab. Both are progressively designed and appear to be the types of pieces that could cost as much as a high-end sports car. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth because these watches are relatively approachable. Today’s Labormatic Superleggero continues with that ethos, but it ups the ante with a titanium case.

Geneva Watch Days 2026 officially kicks off this Wednesday, which means releases from many brands other than the usual suspects, whether they’re officially participating in the event or not. Today, we look at an exciting new piece from Gagà Laboratorio, a cool Swiss brand with Italian roots. In fact, the latest Labormatic Superleggero takes its cues from coachbuilt Italian race cars. These were and are the types of vehicles in which every ounce matters. This watch isn’t so extreme that it’s fragile, but the titanium case is definitely a step in the right direction.

The Gagà Laboratorio Labormatic Superleggero

Gagà Laboratorio’s latest release is a 42 × 13.3mm watch with a media-blasted Grade 5 titanium case. If you’ve been following the brand’s evolution, you’ll know that this marks the first use of this featherweight material in the Labormatic line. As mentioned, Gagà recalls the longstanding coachbuilding industry in Italy as the inspiration for this model, hence the Superleggero name. Despite its lightweight construction, the watch is meant to be worn. Sapphire crystals occupy the top and bottom of the case, and the water resistance rating stands at 50 meters. Additionally, the strap is a technical elastic material that should work well in active environments.

A modern design with an exciting dial

The Labormatic Superleggero has flared, stepped legs and a crown mounted at 12 o’clock. In addition to this progressive choice, the dial has a scrolling hour display. The yellow hand traverses the dial in the traditional fashion. Finally, a central pinion with the company’s logo rotates to indicate that the watch is running. The design is also quite interesting overall. Several arcs reveal the hour wheel below with yellow-on-gray printing.

A decorated La Joux-Perret G100

A common point in the Labormatic line is the La Joux-Perret G100. This increasingly popular automatic caliber has a bespoke, fully circular decorated rotor with the brand’s motif. Performance-wise, the movement offers a 68-hour power reserve and a 28,800vph frequency. It’s a fine choice for a modern, approachable watch.

Final thoughts and pricing

The Labormatic Superleggero is available as a limited edition of 100 pieces on Gagà Laboratorio’s website and through a retail network of authorized sellers. While these watches are distinctive, I think the small production run should result in a relatively quick sell-out. Plus, at CHF 4,700 (ex. VAT), they offer lots of visual differentiation compared to other pieces at the same price point. I also like the muted and matte-finished titanium case. It tones down the watch while adding an even more technical element to the overall aesthetic. All in all, this Superleggero is a fine addition to the Labormatic lineup.
