The IFL Watches × Laphont Bloc Limited Editions Aim For The Sky
The colorful world of IFL Watches takes to the sky with three new Laphont Bloc Limited Editions. Each watch features a hand-painted dial inspired by the things that seem to float effortlessly during childhood. The concept may sound abstract, but the artwork makes it easy to understand. Rather than relying on technical flourishes, the collection uses familiar images to give each watch a lighthearted, personal character. These playful scenes recall a time when life felt simpler and a kite, balloon, or dandelion could hold our attention. They also offer a small daily escape from the demands of adult life. The only question is which of the three designs you would choose to take you back.
Think back to the things that floated when you were young. Perhaps you remember a kite tugging at its string, or a balloon tied to your wrist so it would not drift away. Maybe you blew on a dandelion clock while walking home. Beyond the memories themselves, these objects share a sense of freedom and the possibility of drifting off into the sky. That is much of their appeal — they are buoyant enough to escape and only briefly ours.
The details of the Laphont Bloc Limited Editions
The three artworks appear on the silver version of the Bloc Large from Laphont. Its tank-style stainless steel case measures 27.5 mm wide, 35 mm long, and just 7.6 mm thick. Stepped, polished sides frame the dial, which sits beneath a sapphire crystal. Inside, a Japanese Miyota 2025 quartz caliber offers a three-year battery life and an accuracy of ±20 seconds per month. It is a practical, low-maintenance choice for a watch built around such whimsical artwork.
The dials, naturally, are the main attraction. IFL Watches’ artists created three versions, each featuring hand-painted artwork recalling Banksy’s street art. The first, Skybound, has a deep navy dial with a white rabbit — a traditional symbol of good luck — in the lower-right corner. The rabbit holds five brightly colored kites that stretch across the opposite side of the dial.

The Cloudling version features a teddy bear floating against a glossy Tiffany-blue background. The bear hangs from a cluster of balloons, with a red heart-shaped one leading the way. It looks as though this childhood companion is drifting off in search of a new adventure.
The third model, Bouquella, has a black dial with a little girl painted in white. Several colorful bouquets lift her into the night sky, as if their combined buoyancy could carry her away.
Diagonal lines cross all three dials, with the hands pivoting at the point where each figure meets its means of flight. As with other IFL Watches releases, the artwork is applied by hand, making every dial unique.
The designs omit numerals and hour markers, leaving an open expanse of sky around each character. Only the Laphont logo appears in the lower-left corner. All three watches come on croc-embossed leather straps. The Skybound and Bouquella have straps that match their dial colors, while the Cloudling comes with a light gray one.
Final thoughts on the IFLW × Laphont Bloc Limited Editions
These watches turn familiar childhood memories into playful scenes that offer a brief escape from everyday life. IFL Watches will produce 999 pieces of each design, priced at €399 / US$399 / £349. They go on sale today, November 2nd, at 4:00 PM CEST, through the official IFL Watches website.
That is an unusually large production run for IFL Watches. Although the artwork looks simple, creating this many dials takes just as much time as producing the brand’s usual intricate designs in smaller runs. The result is playful and distinctive, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the watches sell quickly.
