Minase’s flagship model, Divido, is also the brand’s only round watches collection. Its revolutionary approach in terms of design and manufacture brings an effect of depth to the product, achieved thanks to the large number of parts used for both the case and the lugs.

Traditionally manufactured in Japan, Divido timepieces bear the registered label « HiZ », a concept inspired by the Japanese words « Hizu » (exceptional) and « Hi Izuru Kuni » (Land of the Rising Sun). The products labelled« HiZ » are unique with innovative features such as the « case in case » structure, the extraordinary « Sallaz » polishing technique and the construction principle called « MORE » (Minase Original Rebuild Equation).

Amongst the many particularities of Divido, one has to underline its excellent readability: highly precise craftsmanship skills are required to achieve the incredible precision in positioning the dial, the hands and the sapphire glass cover at such small tolerance. This approach, applied to all Minase watches, bears of the rigor, dedication and patience craftsmen put into their work.

The characteristically polyhedral crown bears the brand’s logo, portraying a drill-head that pays homage to the origins of the company, Kyowa, a renowned tool manufacturer that has been in business since 1963, specializing in step drills and also a supplier of high-end watch components before founding Minase.

The « case in case » structure does not feature a dial in the proper sense of the term. It consists of several elements made in steel and building up the heart of each watch: the index ring, the dial plate and the case back are wrapping up the movement and create a separate entity that seems suspended inside the watch. A large cut opening reveals the calendar disc. This tridimension ensemble – completed with hands with curved tips – is securely positioned inside the case.

MINASE belongs to the rare watch brands to work with high-end « Sallaz” polishing. This traditional technique requires up to 50 operations and at least 15 hours of remarkable craftsmanship and know-how to complete each watch. The result is admirable: the mirror polished surfaces are perfect and stand in contrast to the satin surfaces.

Finally, the MORE concept is perfectly compatible with Minase’s DNA – offer rare and magnificent products of traditional hand finishing for an exceptional quality –. This unique approach is inspired by the Japanese jigsaw puzzle art. Unlike common bracelets, there are no pinholes on the links, which yields a compact design and extreme flexibility. Since a large number of parts can be disassembled, repair or replacement is easy allowing the watch to keep its original beauty over the years.
