Last Tuesday, Speedy Tuesday, we organized an event for Speedmaster collectors and enthusiasts together with the Tourbillon Boutique in Amsterdam. The Tourbillon Boutique is owned by Swatch Group where you will find the high-end brands that belong to this group, including Omega. The perfect place to host an event for Speedy Tuesday and some of its followers.
Theme of the event was the release of the Moonwatch Only book by authors Rossier and Marquié. Gregoire Rossier was present during the Speedy event at the Tourbillon Boutique to speak about his book. It was by coincidence that Gregoire Rossier was present in Amsterdam and we took the opportunity to ask him if he would be interested in presenting his new and amazing book to a group of Speedmaster enthusiasts from Holland, Belgium and the UK. He was, so we organized – with the help of Tourbillon Boutique and Omega – the perfect location to do this.
Gregoire told the guests about this research of the Omega Speedmaster, how he did his field work and the process of writing the book. Approximately 35 guests were present to listen to Gregoire and enjoy his stories. The guests brought their Omega Speedmaster watches and discussed them with each other and of course with the author of Moonwatch Only.
For some guests, mysteries around the Speedmaster were solved and for others it has become a trigger to find out more about their specific watch. Some guests had their book signed by the author and took the opportunity to have something personal written in there. If you don’t know the book yet, have a look at our Moonwatch Only book review. It is – in our personal opinion – the best available title on the subject. So besides reading our Speedy Tuesday topics, you should order this book.
The entire Fratello Watches team was present of course. It was very cool to meet our Speedy Tuesday readers and fans and talk that special Speedmaster language with them. Many interesting Speedmaster watches were taken to the Tourbillon Boutique by visitors of the event, we’ve seen a couple of gold Speedmaster models (the 1969 BA 145.022 as well as the limited Apollo XI gold edition from the 1980s) as well as some very nice CK2998 and newer models.
We tried to capture a few of them on our photos below. Please enjoy the photos!

Looking forward to see you on our next event! A very special thank you to Gregoire Rossier for coming over to the Tourbillon Boutique and talking about the Moonwatch Only book.
