Tissot’s Boldest PRX Yet: The Damian Lillard Skeleton Transforms Into A Pocket Watch
Today, Tissot and NBA star Damian Lillard introduce a new PRX Skeleton. The watch emerges from close collaboration with the player known as “Dame Time” and draws from the journey that shaped him. Decisive moments come through preparation long before they arrive. That mindset now takes form in a dedicated PRX. Therefore, the piece reflects ambition, perseverance, and discipline — traits many of us find familiar.
Damian Lillard has served as a Tissot ambassador since 2021. The relationship rests on shared values of commitment and discipline. Tissot is quick to point out that it is no mere model with a player’s name on it. No, Lillard played an active role throughout the watch’s creative process. He helped shape many defining elements and worked closely with Tissot’s team. The result is the first PRX Skeleton, and it happens to carry his story in every detail.
The Tissot PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition
The PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition’s case shape and integrated-strap design make it instantly recognizable as part of the PRX family. And with its 44mm stainless steel exterior, the watch is appropriately sized for those who play roundball. Happily, a brushed mid-case downplays the size, making the dial, or lack thereof, the focus. This 100m-water-resistant watch also comes with quite an array of accessories. A burgundy rubber strap, a similarly hued calfskin one, and a pocket-watch conversion are all included.
An open dial and burgundy as the main theme
A manual-winding skeleton movement sits at the center. It reveals the caliber’s architecture beneath the dial. Therefore, the wearer engages directly with the mechanism through the ritual of winding. The burgundy color also continues from the dial into both straps.
The rich tone creates cohesion and strengthens this special edition’s character. A transparent case back carries Lillard’s signature, a subtle nod to his involvement. However, a gold seconds hand inspired by his monogram adds a brighter detail to the dial.
Straps and a pocket-watch conversion
The burgundy rubber strap features a milk-crate pattern, recalling the makeshift basketball hoops of Lillard’s childhood. Therefore, the design returns to where his passion first took shape. An additional burgundy leather strap offers a different expression. Crafted from natural material, it develops a unique patina over time.
In addition, a dedicated conversion system transforms the timepiece into a pocket watch. This translates to yet another way to wear and appreciate the PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition. Quick-release spring bars make the changes simple.
A hand-winding ETA 6497-1
Underneath the case back’s signed sapphire window, Tissot chose an interesting caliber. The hand-winding ETA 6497-1 is on display and powers the new PRX Skeleton. This movement, originally developed by Unitas in the 1950s, gives the watch a decidedly classic feel. It beats at 18,000 vph and provides a 46-hour power reserve. Decoration-wise, the caliber is adorned with blued screws and striping.
Launch and homecoming
Tissot joined the Portland Trail Blazers’ Fan Fest on October 4th this year. The event celebrated Lillard’s return after months away from the court due to injury. What’s more, it built anticipation for the watch. Fans explored the Wall of Dame, a timeline of key moments from his career, plus a photo experience and a Dear Dame letterbox. The theme was Dame Time Is Our Time. Consequently, the launch coincides with Portland’s season opener against the Phoenix Suns on October 21st. The watch marks his return to competition and a new chapter. Happily, this piece is not a limited edition and is available for €1,895.
