Zenith marks the 250th anniversary of the United States with the release of the Chronomaster Revival Liberty II. This launch follows the original North American exclusive from several years ago. The new model strengthens the historical link between the Swiss manufacture and American industrial history. Zenith founder Georges Favre-Jacot famously visited the United States in the 19th century. His observations of American production methods inspired him to establish Switzerland’s first integrated watch manufacture.

This release serves as a tribute to that specific transatlantic influence. It places the new model within a growing lineage of region-specific editions for the brand. While the first Liberty edition focused on 1960s aesthetics, this iteration adopts a more commemorative tone. It balances the vintage proportions of the El Primero’s early years with modern materials and a symbolic color scheme.

Rundown: Zenith Chronomaster Revival Liberty II

The Chronomaster Revival Liberty II features the classic 37mm tonneau-shaped case seen on the 1969 A384. This release offers two distinct material choices for the angular case design. The primary edition comes in stainless steel with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. A much more limited version features a forged carbon case, giving it a more contemporary look. Both models maintain a 12.6mm thickness and a 50m water resistance rating.

The dial follows a panda-style layout with a white lacquered base and blue concentric-grained sub-dials. Zenith has incorporated several patriotic details into the display. The central chronograph seconds hand features 13 alternating red and white stripes. The tachymeter scale includes a red “250” mark, while the date disc at 4:30 highlights the “4” in red. These elements reference the anniversary of American independence.

Powering the watch is the El Primero 400 caliber. This movement is a direct descendant of the original 1969 high-frequency chronograph. It operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour and provides a 50-hour power reserve. The case back’s rim is engraved with “America 250th Anniversary.” Through the sapphire window, you can view the blued column wheel. For the steel model, Zenith offers the Gay Frères-style ladder bracelet or a blue Cordura-effect rubber strap. The carbon edition comes exclusively on the rubber strap.

First impressions

The Chronomaster Revival Liberty II is a focused commemorative piece that avoids being overly loud. By using the A384’s 37mm footprint, Zenith maintains proportions appealing to vintage enthusiasts. The decision to offer a forged carbon case alongside steel provides an interesting contrast between heritage and modern tech. This release effectively celebrates a specific historical connection rather than just a calendar date.

Both pieces will be available exclusively in the US market. The stainless steel version is limited to 250 pieces, while the forged carbon model is restricted to just 25. Prices stand at $10,600 for the steel edition and $13,400 for the carbon version. What do you make of this limited-edition release from Zenith? Let us know in the comments below.
