Omega Silently Introduces Two New Seamaster Diver 300M Models In Blue And Brown Ceramic
Omega has quietly expanded its Seamaster Diver 300M collection with two new 43.5mm ceramic models. Available in blue and brown, the latest additions combine matching ceramic cases and wave-pattern dials with curved-end rubber straps. While the blue version pairs its ceramic components with Grade 5 titanium, the brown model adds 18K Sedna Gold details, including the hands and bezel scale. Both watches house the automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8806 and, of course, offer 300m water resistance.
Since its introduction in 1993, the Seamaster Diver 300M has undergone numerous updates in materials, colors, and movements. Its recognizable design, including the helium escape valve and wave-pattern dial, has remained a defining feature throughout. With these two releases, Omega revisits ceramic, a familiar material for the brand. Some of you might even remember Jorg going hands-on with the black ceramic/titanium 300M a couple of years ago. The colorful twist is new to the 300M line, resulting in two distinctly colored interpretations of the brand’s flagship diver.
Blue ceramic with titanium
The blue model, reference 210.92.44.20.03.001, combines a blue ceramic case and dial (featuring the modern large-wave pattern) with Grade 5 titanium components. The diving scale on the unidirectional bezel is filled with white enamel, while the skeletonized hands are given a titanium PVD colorway and filled with white Super-LumiNova.
The remaining dial markings, including the Omega logo, are all white. This creates a pleasantly congruent colorway, uninterrupted by any additional chromatic accents. A curved-end blue rubber strap with a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle completes the design. The watch weighs approximately 106 grams (that’s three grams lighter than its steel counterpart).
Brown ceramic with Sedna Gold
The second model (reference 210.62.44.20.13.001) pairs brown ceramic with Omega’s 18K Sedna Gold alloy. If it looks familiar, you’re not wrong. Omega had already introduced a similar version (ref. 210.62.44.20.01.001) in black ceramic and with an embossed ceramic bezel. The new variant’s bezel features a diving scale in Omega Ceragold, while the skeletonized hands are made of Sedna Gold and filled with white Super-LumiNova. The dial’s remaining markings combine white and Sedna Gold details.
This version comes on a brown rubber strap with a brown ceramic pin buckle. It weighs approximately 122 grams (oddly, that’s seven grams heavier than the standard steel-and-gold model on rubber). Sedna Gold makes the brown model look warmer and more distinctive than the more monochromatic blue version, despite also showing restraint and omitting additional color accents.
Both watches measure 43.5mm in diameter, 51.5mm from lug to lug, and 14.27mm thick. They also share a 21mm lug spacing.
Caliber 8806
Inside both Omega Seamaster Diver 300M models is the brand’s automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8806. Approved by METAS, the movement is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss. It features a silicon balance spring, a free-sprung balance, automatic winding in both directions, and a 55-hour power reserve. The movement also has a rhodium-plated rotor and bridges decorated with arabesque Geneva waves. These are visible through the case back’s transparent sapphire crystal.
The watches also retain the main technical features of the Seamaster Diver 300M. These include a helium escape valve, screw-down crown, unidirectional bezel, and 300m water resistance. A domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an antireflective treatment on both sides protects each dial.
First impressions
With these releases, Omega further expands the options within the Seamaster Diver 300M collection. While most of us will agree we’re ready for a new Seamaster 300M, I don’t think these models are quite what we had in mind. Still, there’s bound to be a market for this rather bold pair, especially the blue one. And with 53 references now available in the main Seamaster 300M lineup (65 including chronographs and other special editions), we are truly spoiled for choice. But whether Omega will soon fully revamp the 300M, as it did with the Planet Ocean, remains to be seen.
The blue ceramic Seamaster Diver 300M has a recommended retail price of €9,700 (including VAT). The brown ceramic and Sedna Gold version costs €15,000 (also including VAT).
