Yesterday was the big day for Speedmaster fans all around the world! The introduction of the new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Master Chronometer.

Four new models basically, two steel variations and two in gold. You can read all about the new Moonwatch here. Rob and I decided to host a podcast on the new Moonwatch and answer some of the hottest questions we’ve read in the comments and on social media.

Thank you very much for your interesting conversation. Question concerning the bracelet: Is it possible to use the bracelet for the now discontinued Moonwatch? I hope so, because I wear my 2012 bought Moonwatch only on a leather strap. The corresponding bracelet is a bit too bulky for my wrist. The now introduced one looks finer and more elegant.

  We are not entirely sure yet. It might be the case that you will need a thinner springbar than the one in your current Moonwatch.

great Podcast!!! great watch, I have the old sapphire sandwich and Im planning to add the new one into the collection , that will allow me to change the old sapphire for a vintage 321 🙂

I created an account here just so I could post this comment: am I the only one who is annoyed that RJ essentially cut Rob off any time he tried to say something?? Rob sounds like he had some great points to make but wasn’t given the opportunity to say more than three words without being cut off. RJ we’re all impressed with your knowledge of the Moonwatch, and Fratello is your website and you can do whatever you want with it, but if you invite a guest to join you, fer gawds sakes man, let him speak.
I’m now going to go back to enjoying my 1861 Speedmaster.

The cost for Canopus gold may be tool related. Not the cost for bits, but having to run them at slower speed (to reduce possible chatter in the finish) could double or triple the amount of time they are in the CAD mill getting their original shape.

This is pure speculation. Wanted to add the machine time for a ‘tougher material’, in addition to the bits eaten up in the process.
