I admit I had to Google this one! That is all on me, though, as I’m not into movies so much. Actor Colman Domingo was at the Met Gala 2025 sporting a yet-to-be-released Omega Speedmaster Professional in Moonshine Gold.

Colman Domingo has played many roles in movies and series, from roles in Law & Order and Fear The Walking Dead (109 episodes) to starring in one of the Transformers movies. Even though I love Transformers, I stopped watching the movies after the first two (which has nothing to do with Megan Fox disappearing from them). This means I also missed Colman Domingo starring in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts from 2023. Anyway, I am not a movie buff like @niccoloy, but what I did see on the GQ account this morning was Domingo wearing a yet-to-be-released Speedmaster. After that, I reached out to the folks at Omega to ask if they had an image of him at the Met Gala that we could use (to prevent having issues with copyrights). They did!

The photo shows Domingo wearing a new Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch in Moonshine Gold featuring a lacquered reverse panda dial with white sub-dials. Omega pulled a “Daniel Craig” trick once more by loaning an unreleased watch to an actor visiting a red-carpet event. Meanwhile, other brands followed suit.

Moonshine Gold Omega Speedmasters

Omega and the Moonshine Gold alloy

Omega introduced the first Moonshine Gold Speedmaster in 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. I cherish this watch and think it is one of the best Speedmaster iterations. Then, Omega introduced two more Moonshine Gold editions — one with a green dial and another with a golden panda dial.

Today, Omega shows us what’s coming in the (near) future — an 18K Moonshine Gold Speedmaster with a reverse panda dial. Is it a Speedy Tuesday “Tribute to Alaska III” in gold? No, Omega gave the dial a lacquered finish rather than keeping it matte. Also, the Speedy Tuesday “Tribute to Alaska III” has a fully brushed case (including the bezel, pushers, and crown). The new Moonshine Gold reverse panda seems to have the same case as the previous Moonshine Gold Speedmaster models.

I have no information on the release of this watch (already nicknamed the “Le Moons” by some), but as soon as it’s official, we will report on it quickly.
