Introducing: The First Of The Pragma P1 Perseverance Stone Dial Editions 2026
At London Watch Week 2026, Pragma announced two developments that mark the next phase of the young independent brand’s journey. First, the company announced it’s partnering with retailer Ace Jewelers for the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Second, it unveiled the first of the Pragma P1 Perseverance Stone Dial Editions 2026. The exclusive P1 Perseverance Silver Obsidian Dial is available in six examples — five in solar stainless steel and one in 3N gold. Later this year, the sodalite and jade variants will debut.
During London Watch Week — a city-wide event happening until tomorrow, Saturday, June 6th, and spanning multiple luxury venues and iconic locations across the capital — Pragma unveiled the first of the P1 Perseverance Stone Dial Editions 2026. If you are in London or Amsterdam, you could check out the Pragma P1 Perseverance Silver Obsidian Dial in either of the two available metals at the Ace Jewelers boutiques in Mayfair and Museum Quarter, respectively. The P1 Perseverance Silver Obsidian Dial is an exclusive limited edition of just six watches, with five in solar stainless steel supplied by recycling experts Panatere SA and one in 3N gold. As you might remember, Pragma exceeds the standards for “Swiss Made” certification with watches 100% manufactured in Switzerland from 82.7% recycled materials. And since the brand preaches full transparency, it offers full disclosure of the materials’ origins, manufacturing processes, and suppliers used to create its watches.
The first of the Pragma P1 Perseverance Stone Dial Editions 2026
The P1 Perseverance is a chronometer-certified watch conceived around transparency in sourcing and production. The watch’s slender 39 × 10.4mm case is made from 100% recycled solar steel produced in the two solar furnaces at Panatere’s La Chaux-de-Fonds production facility. This steel is used for the cases and pin buckles that were developed in collaboration with Voutilainen & Cattin. The watch’s hardware is 100% Swiss, and so is its design inspiration. The angular, minimalist, well-proportioned look is based on Switzerland’s precise architectural principles.
The way Pragma positions itself is ambitious and commendable. It’s not taking the easy route; instead, it takes the scenic route that shows you all of Switzerland. If you value the combination of eco-conscious materials and rich Swiss watchmaking tradition, while also appreciating a modernistic design language, the P1 might be the watch for you.
With the Stone Dial Editions 2026, Pragma releases an 18-piece limited series centered on natural stones — specifically, obsidian, sodalite, and jade. And rather than serving as decorative inserts, the stones form the dial itself. Each dial sits atop a brass base and features indexes carved directly into the stone’s surface. White-printed minute tracks provide legibility. And for contrast, the two rotating, concentric-engraved aluminum counters for the date at 12 and the small seconds at 6 o’clock received a 3N gold coating through an atomized deposition process.
Truth-telling obsidian
The first of the series is the P1 Perseverance Silver Obsidian Dial. The five examples in steel are available now. The one in 3N gold will debut later this year, as will the watches with sodalite and jade dials. Separate releases allow the different stones to shine without competing against each other. Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when lava from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth.
Since obsidian requires specific volcanic conditions that the Swiss Alps and Plateau lack, the stone Pragma uses for the P1’s dial made by LM Cadrans in Gland (CH) is sourced abroad. Among people who believe in the power of stones, black obsidian is known as a powerful “truth-teller.” Therefore, the origin of this dial shouldn’t be unknown. Obsidian, with its deep black color and glassy sheen, is also said to symbolize protection, clarity, and transformation. But let’s not go into that. Let’s stick to the material as part of a watch.
Technical vision
Under the volcanic dial, the Pragma 1031-1 caliber beats, as it does inside all the other P1 iterations. It’s an automatic chronometer developed in collaboration with Chronode SA and certified to ISO 3159 standards. The modern-looking, 278-part movement features a mainplate, bridges, and structural components all made from fully recycled Grade 5 titanium. The movement architecture reflects the vision of one of Pragma’s founders, watchmaker Christopher Wegener. He trained at Rolex and spent eight years working alongside F.P. Journe on movements, including those for the Chronomètre Souverain, Octa, and Chronomètre à Résonance. Later, Wegener contributed to projects at Laurent Ferrier before moving into high-complication watchmaking.
With the P1 Perseverance Silver Obsidian Dial, the young brand Pragma explores how it can evolve through materials, craftsmanship, and annual limited editions. The brand has a well-contemplated and contemporary vision, and its execution is technically and visually remarkable. The steel version of the P1 Perseverance Silver Obsidian Dial costs CHF 34,500 (ex. VAT) and is available at Ace Jewelers in London and Amsterdam or through Pragma online.
