We told you this would be fun. After four weeks of voting, you, the Fratelli, have selected the winning Instagram images that have made it through to this, the second semi-final. One more hurdle awaits these champions. Winning this week’s vote guarantees the image a place in December’s final. Better still, it puts the photographer behind the image in the running for some very tasty prizes indeed…

Below you can find the winners of the last four rounds’. Some cases were obvious from the start. In other instances, we saw heavy voting battles (and surprising last-minute swings) between the contestants. However, in the end, there could only be one winner each week. Now we need you, dear readers, to decide who will be the winner of the last four rounds. Remember this week’s winning shot will advance to the finals at the end of the year. The winner of that vote will take home the 2020 Fratello Instagram Photo Challange trophy.

The heats

If you want to see the images that didn’t make it this far, you can check out the contestants from Round 13, Round 14, Round 15, and Round 16 here.

Also, if you are not familiar with the requirements, let us bring you up to speed:

The rules are simple. Every week we will pick four watch images from Instagram. All you need to do to be eligible for selection is tag your watch shots with #fratellowatches. We will publish these four images here in the Magazine with a bit of a background story. You can vote in the article for your favorite image.

The winner advances to the next round, which will take place every fifth week. The winning image of the previous four weeks’ votes progresses to the final, which will be held in Week 49, 2020. We will announce the winner the following week in Week 50. That means that only five watches will contest the final in 2020. We’ll start anew in January 2021 so we’ll have ten finalists in year two.

So, without further ado, here are the winners of the last four rounds

@maxx_vdv — Heuer Autavia vintage

“This is the first watch I fell in love with. I always saw it on my grandfather’s wrist. When I was around 6 years old I asked him if I could see and hold his watch. He showed me his piece and I was truly amazed, from the second he deployed the clasp. He told me that was so you can make the bracelet longer so it could go over your wetsuit if you went diving.

“It also had a “ring” around the crystal that could rotate to time how long you were underwater so you wouldn’t run out of oxygen. I was blown away. But that wasn’t it. It wasn’t only a watch, but it even had a stopwatch! The fact that my grandfather actually used it as a tool meant a lot to me. Subsequently, it would become my grail. Since that day I always wanted the same piece as my grandfather — a Heuer Autavia 11063V.

“On January the 20th, my grandfather took the Autavia of a shelve and gave it to me. I asked, ‘Why? Isn’t this your piece?’ And he told me, ‘I’d rather give it to you with a warm hand, than with a cold one.’

“I just turned 16 on September 14th, and I got the watch completely serviced, and of course, I kept it completely original. I still can’t believe it. I’m barely 16 and I already own my grail watch! And, even better, I own a watch that my Grandfather made a lot of memories with.”

@dads_wrist — Sinn 104 St Sa A G

“The Sinn104 St Sa A G is undoubtedly a classic release by SINN. This watch checks every box on the list of what to look for in a gentleman’s watch. The execution of the glittery green dial makes it unique and flashy.”

@eezywatch — Omega Speedmaster Professional

“I had wanted an Omega Speedmaster Professional for years. The birth of my son gave me an excellent excuse. I wasn’t too chuffed with the bracelet as the solid end links made the watch wear even bigger than it already is. After reading an excellent long-form post by RJ Boer on Omega-addict (“The Speedmaster Professional bracelet & strap guide”), I fitted it with an original 1171 bracelet. It has been on my wrist at least every Tuesday since, for six years now.”

@thewatchesofwilson — A.Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph

“The watch was brought along by a friend @timgreen81 to a weekend watch meet-up that I organized. A group of 10 brought along way too many watches. This 1815 chronograph was one of them and I feel hugely privileged to have had the chance to wear it and capture this shot of it. It’s truly an exceptional piece of engineering and beauty.”
