It arrived!
Finally, after some time of waiting my two paintings arrived. One of them is a painting on the Moonlanding. I posted a message with pictures in the Omega Forum at WatchUseek, where I am co-moderator.

Speaking of Constellations (see post below), last weekend I visitted my grandfather and he told me he was quite happy with the accuracy and new ‘looks’ of his Constellation. Some years ago, before the watch got a complete overhaul, I wrote a small essay/review on his watch. Next time I visit him, I should make a new picture of his watch. The dial is cleaned up and the crystal and case are bright and shiny again.
Anyway, the review can be found here. Mind you, it is dated (2001) and the pictures are made with a digital camera which probably is even cheaper nowadays than a leather strap.

Some time ago, Jon Langballe (co-moderates the Omega Forum at WatchUseek) sent me a picture of his Seamaster 300.

I guess Omega nowadays seeks the internet as well, looking for “what’s hot and what’s not” amongst customers and collectors. Omega uses details from watches like these and apply them on new models like the Seamaster Planet Ocean and others (think of the vintage Constellation pie-pan and the modern DeVille Co-Axial).
Thanks Jon!!
Kelly M. Rayburn has a great collection. A mix of Swiss and Japanese watches, of which a Universal Geneve is shown below.
To see his entire collection, click here.

John over at WristWatchReview is asking people (and especially those interested in watches probably) to contribute for a book called “About Time”. You better click over to this post at WWR and read all about it.

Mike Wood showed the following in the Rolex Vintage Forum at TimeZone:

“A sterling silver Rolex demi-hunter wristwatch, with signed white enamel dial, signed Rolex / Wilsdorf & Davies signed patented case with screw case back (the flip top lid activated by the button at 6 o’clock), signed nickel-plated Rolex movement, on a period sterling silver bracelet, from around 1916. “
If you are interested in vintage Rolexes (and in other models than the old Subs and DJ’s), you should really check the link.
It is already a long time ago, and I could use some more pictures in my mailbox to make it a bit easier. So if you happen to know a great picture, or am able to make one… let me know!!
Dale Vito sent me this one for Week 33:

The other ones till so far were a Blancpain, Rolex (twice) and Panerai.
Today I deleted probably over 150 users from the Speedmaster.nl Forum. All fake accounts or accounts used for spamming. Thanks a lot.
Since a few years, I have this vintage Rolex Date-Just from 1969, a ref.1601. Actually, it is a ref.1603 but I changed from the stainless steel engine turned bezel to a white gold bezel, which makes it a ref.1601 :-). I bought the (original Rolex) 18kt white gold bezel from a guy from Beverly Hills who had a lot of customers for his custom made diamond studded bezels for all kind of Rolexes. That way, he ended up with a lot of original steel and gold bezels which he sold (and maybe he still does) for very reasonable prices. Anyway, last week I wore my Date-Just again and wondered if I would be able to switch dials as well. Just for fun. So I went to the eBay auction site and found this dial:

I guess I will bid on it and just pray it is original
It is a bit long winded, but worth waiting… The slide show by Harry SK Tan on his new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (ref.15300, caliber 3120).

As I was driving to my work yesterday morning, I looked at the clock in the dashboard of my car to see how late it was. As I couldn’t imagine time went that quickly, I also checked time on my watch (Sea-Dweller). A 4 minute deviation. I first thought that my watch would be wrong, since I synced the clock of my car just a few weeks ago with my PDA (which is always on time). So last evening, I thought about it again (forgot about it all day yesterday) and wanted to set my watch on time with the clock at www.time.gov. Only a few seconds deviation, not even worth to pull out the crown. This morning I looked again at the clock of my car, still a 4 minute deviation… My guess is, that the clocks used in these Alfa Romeo cars are just as reliable as the rest of the equipment in there. Luckily, Panerai does a better job, but I guess maybe that has something to do with the outsourcing to Switzerland for their movements.

p.s. My PDA is also showing the correct time as we speak.
I really thought that I had seen all kind of possible threads and topics on watchforums, until I crossed this post at TimeZone by beauSF.

The whole thread is about watch store girls and which store has the prettiest….. Must have been a slow day at TimeZone yesterday..

John Holbrook started his own watch forums a while ago now, and it seems to run very smooth! Clifton, moderator of the Rolex Forum at Watch Talk Forum and member of the WatchUseek Rolex Forum, notified me about his forum overthere. Looks great!
Jorge Merino posted a message about the new ambassador for Movado at TimeZone, actress Kerry Washington. Besides a picture of the actress, Jorge posted this one in the message as well:

I love the museum watch by Movado, the others I actually don’t know that well. Anyway, I always thought these were quartz watches. I guess I was wrong
Today I wore my 36mm Rolex Date-Just, which stands out from the rest of my collection, which is a bit bigger. I assume (haven’t checked details yet) that this Movado tourbillon watch isn’t bigger than 36mm. That would be quite daring anno 2005.
This watch is like those Maserati Bi-Turbo’s from the 80s and early 90s (except better quality I hope), a true racing car with the looks of your regular family car

Got the picture from this site.
