My watch arrived..
Last week (well, the 17th of february already, but didn’t have much time to make a picture and post something here) my watch arrived. I really had a hard time choosing a new watch… Another Panerai with a black dial, a vintage Submariner (ref.1680) or a new GMT-Master II. I used to have a ref.1675 GMT-Master, but I didn’t want to wear that one on a daily basis. However, the voices in head told me that I really needed a GMT-Master again. So I ordered one at my watch dealer and it didn’t take too long before it arrived!
This Rolex GMT-Master II ref.16710 is a 2006 model (with the new box and no holes in the case anymore).

Modern beauty, old time classic, can you ask for more? Enjoy and wear it in good health!
Kind regards,
Martijn

Congratulations with this fine watch.
You won’t believe it, but I (an Omega man) recently bought my first Rolex (second-hand)…. It’s at the jeweller for servicing.
Thank you, Martijn, for the tips you gave by telephone. It helped me a lot. (The watch I bought is not the white-dialed Explorer II.)
Will let you know once it has returned.
Greetings,
Hans Mennink

Nice choice, I never tire of seeing that model.

Hi Hans,
I also was an Omega ‘only’ collector until 2003.
I can assure you that this won’t be your last Rolex!!
Are you heading for Duesseldorf next week? 5th of March… You will be amazed by the number of Rolexes over there. Maybe we can team up.

Congratulations on your beautiful GMT. What’s going on in Duesseldorf? Anything worth seeing?

Sure, a watch fair in the Radisson SAS hotel. It will make you hate Rikketik.. so maybe it is even better not going
You will get addicted

If I can get a car from my parents, I will certainly go. So glad I got a nav. sys
Nice watch btw, congrats!

Would love to go, but I cannot go this time
Duties elsewhere…..
I’ll keep it in mind, perhaps we can go another time.
About the Rolexes…. It could very well be that more are to follow…

Great watch Hans! Congratultions! My first Rolex arrived about a month ago (steel-gold OysterQuartz). All Dutch Omega-fans seems to move over to Rolex….

This will be your daily watch for sure
Very good taste indeed. BW

It was a good choice RJ!
@Martijn: I don’t think it’s about ’switching over’ to Rolex. From my own experience I know that Omega (certainly the Speedmaster series) and Rolex models very well live together.

Gerard,
They sure live together, but my desire to buy another Omega has been rather limited now that I’ve experienced a Rolex. And I know that I’m not the only one that is feeling like this…..

Gald you have it. My only regert is that they don’t use tritium anymore. I really prefer tritium over luminova any day.
