Greubel Forsey is renowned for their impressive tourbillon timepieces, especially the Quadruple Tourbillon made a huge impression last year. This timepiece was even honoured as the ‘Best Complicated Watch’ during the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie Asia on the 25th of September in 2009, hosted in Singapore.

Now, Greubel Forsey opened a dedicated ‘private room’ for their timepieces located in the central district of Hong Kong, as part of the Elegant Watch & Jewellery boutique. This way, customers and aficionados of the Greubel Forsey brand can admire these tourbillon master pieces in a special and serene environment aligned with the Greubel Forsey Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

This special private room includes the three exciting new models that Greubel Forsey presented during their first attendence of the SIHH in Geneve earlier this year: a Double Tourbillon Technique with 5N red gold case, a Tourbillon 24 Secondes with platinum case and black gold dial, and Invention Piece 3, the homage to the third invention, with platinum case.

Between the 5th of June and the 2nd of July 2010, the (Europe’s very first) Rolex boutique in Berlin is showcasing their most important or better yet, meaningful watches of their 105 years of existence. The watches are chronologically displayed starting with their oldest timepiece dating 1905 and includes their first Oyster watches, produced in 1926 and worn by Mercedes Gleitze while she swam the Channel in 1927.
Also on display, the very Oyster Perpetual that Sir Edmund Hillary wore during his 1953 climbing adventure on the Mount Everest and the Deep Sea Special prototype from 1960 with the crazy domed crystal. This particular watch was taken to a depth of 10916 metres, being attached on the hull of the research submersible “Triest”.

The Berlin Rolex boutique is opened from mondays till fridays from 10:00 till 19:00. On saturday from 10:00 till 18:00. The Rolex boutique is a joint venture between Rolex SA and Wempe.

Since I write for WorldTempus (bi-weekly chronicles), I receive one of their publications by the name of ‘Revolution’. I guess the watch adepts know about the magazine
In their latest edition, my eye felt on a photograph of Laurent Picciotto. Mr Picciotto is the owner of Chronopassion, a true heaven for watch freaks. His shop at the rue Saint-Honor?ɬ in Paris is amazing and filled with watches from Alain Silberstein, Audemars Piguet, De Bethune, Greubel Forsey, Hautlence, MB&F, Richard Mille, Urwerk and many many more. I have to admit that I walked passed this shop a few times, but never entered. I always feel a bit guilty when taking up someone’s time when I am not buying anything anyway. Perhaps you know the feeling (or not). On the other hand, perhaps I should get used to it, since I write about watches for this blog and a few other media.
Anyhows, I just received a mail by Maximilian B?ɬsser of MB&F, whom I consider friend of FratelloWatches, sending me this great photograph that I just saw a few days ago in the French/European Revolution magazine.

Mr Picciotto’s website (www.chronopassion.fr) is as amazing as this photograph. The website is filled with information and photographs of their haute horlogerie collection and even better, Laurent Picciotto is starring in a few on-line watch videos as well. In his videos, he will give you more information about the watches that Chronopassion carries in their collection. I think this is one of the examples on how a 2009 e-tailer’s watch website should look like.
