Yesterday afternoon I had a very interesting interview with a few people from Omega on their Speedmaster line and philosofy.

Gerard Nijenbrinks

Gerard has been in the watch industry for over two decades now. He runs an on-line watch shop from The Hague, The Netherlands, and besides that he has journalistic and photographic activities in the field of watches. Collecting watches since he was six years old (true!) and triggered by a friend, he bought his first 'real' watch in the late eighties; an Omega Speedmaster Professional with glass back. This was the first watch of a nice, even today ever growing, collection.

Thanks G! I hope all is well in Basel!

  • It’s BIG TIME fun again RJ, I’m sorry you couldn’t join, and you should be sorry as well πŸ˜‰

Tomorrow it’s off to Geneva for the Vacheron Constantin auction at Antiquorum, and Monday, after appointments at Rolex, Patek and Omega, back to Basel where I will be for Tuesday and Wednesday at least. Thursday ZR?

Yes, I am very sorry. But I didn’t dare to ask some time off during the first ‘trial’ period of my new job πŸ™‚ Anyway, I will visit Basel some time in the future for sure. Btw, it is justified to kick some butt at Rolex for their new ugly 50th anniversary models. Yuck.

Thursday Zwarte Ruiter it is! Have fun this week G!
